Final look on the 2009 Town Meeting

While wind power was not the main discussion of the meeting, the budget was passed.  The 2009 proposed $189,000 budget was down from the 2008 proposed budget of $207,099.  They actually spent $255,926.40.  They hope to stay within their budget this year which would help from their lapse from last years budget.
Out of the 44 articles that were presented from the warning all but one were passed.  Article 30 was not passed which wanted the town to appropriate the sum of $305.00 to help support the Northeastern Vermont Developmental Association (NVDA).
Another important note is that article 36 was passed which will have the town of Sheffield use the Australian ballot process to adopt the town plans and amendments thereto.
Other than that, the town of Sheffield will wait until next year to discuss more topics such as the ones I have stated above.  And of course see how those wind towers are coming.
